2024

There’s not a lot to say about Fatebreakers, to be honest. At some point you get the hang of the whole process, and the funny mistakes and interesting stories just start to become less because you start to learn what you are doing.
For the sake of honesty, I should note that I still have no idea what I’m doing, but less so than I did when I pushed Souls into the world.

I will tell you that I didn’t plan on writing Fatebreakers. Hell, I didn’t even plan on writing Herringwood Messiah either. But they had to be written because the currently unwritten book I did plan wouldn’t make any sense without a bridge between it and the first one.
This did cause me to end up with a trilogy, and I kinda didn’t wanna write a trilogy. Always thought that was a bit of a cliché and a “write to market” gimmick. Granted, it’s a cliché because it works.
But I don’t rely on writing to pay my bills (and with AI poisoning the well I doubt that will ever happen) so I’m in the fortunate position of writing exactly what I wanna write. If you like it, that’s great, if not… Well, ain’t my bitch.

I did have some BTS entries ready, but in hindsight, they really do feel forced. Like, written by a guy struggling to find something to say about the book when there really isn’t anything good enough to make it into the writing version of the extra features menu.

So without further ado, enjoy the rather limited BTS for Fatebreakers.
